Hi, I’m Andrew.
Thank you for taking the time to look through my website, and to consider working with me. If you would like to find out a little bit more about me, then you could have a look at this page I use a hybrid (automatic) Toyota Yaris Driver training happens from Tuesday to Saturday, though Saturdays are normally booked up for a number of months ahead. I keep Sundays and Mondays as my weekend, and am not available for training or tests. My driving sessions are 2 hours long, starting at 8.30am, 11am, and 4pm. I also have a 90 minute session starting at 2pm. I can, but only sometimes, adapt the times if needed. Each 2-hour session costs £92, and any 90minute session is £69. I do not consider myself as a “Teacher’, or an “Instructor”. My role in the car is to keep us safe, as well as everyone else and their property. I am not here to get you to pass your test. I am not aiming at a test ( I acknowledge that passing your Driving Test is an important part of your driver training), my purpose is to keep us all safe whilst you learn to find a way of driving safely. I will, of course, help either verbally or physically if absolutely necessary, but I am looking for you to create your own strategies or routines complete your route, whilst negotiating all the hazards on the way. Sessions are hopefully going to be relaxed, definitely safe, and productive. I generally let you work through how you are going to cope with the task that you are likely to face next. Then we will go and face that task, see if it worked as expected, and consider whether or not you need to adapt anything. The we will try that plan, and re-assess it afterwards. Once you are happy that it works, then we can go and try it in a different situation, and another one, and another one. There are a number of books available to give guidance on driving safely: The Theory Test is based on the knowledge contained in the three publications:
There are also a huge number of YouTube videos available - just make sure you are watching UK videos, and that you think the content is legal and sensible. Most new drivers are concerned about how to stop in a hurry, so fairly early on, we will go and try out “firm braking” at different speeds, and experience the affect of damp/ wet roads, and higher speeds, in order for you to be confident that you can stop quickly and safely in an unexpected situation. There will be chances for us to put a number of skills together, and go for a drive, in and out of Cheltenham, Gloucester, The Cotswolds roads, dual carriageways, motorways, and many other “challenges” I use an App (MyDriveTime2) to record lessons, payments, progress, test bookings and so on. It also has a RESOURCES tab, that then leads you to a number of resources. Some are mine, some are links to other websites - all are well-recognised in the Driver Training industry, but I cannot guarantee the contents of the pages. Once you have submitted your information, you should receive an email from me confirming that I have received the information
