Bay Parking to the Left
"I would like you to Reverse into any one of the bays on the left"

Move to the Start Position
Move to, and stop at, a position at the front of the bay, about ½ a car width from the front line

You are sitting in line with the centre line of the bay

No-one else can get into the bay. You can check the suitability of the bay, broken glass, trolleys etc

Look for a feature that is 45 degrees to your right, at least as high as you are.

All round observations, especially the Blind spot.. you are about to block the road briefly

SLOW car, BRISK steering to get the car facing your feature, with the wheels straight again.

Do not cross into any one else's bays

Into REVERSE, handbrake on.         RADAR head

Identify the bay you are going to back into. You should be able to see the left
bay line that you want to steer round in the left Blind spot mirror.

All round Observations. Look backwards, and Radar head whilst reversing SLOWLY round the left Bay line. RADAR head

Aim to slide into the bay, close to the left line

Get the car straight and central in the bay. Do not stick out of the bay's front, or the bay's back

Secure the car

When it all goes wrong..
Stop. RADAR head

Work out where you need to be, compared to where you are

Work out how to get there safely

Check that it is safe to do it. Are you sure it's safe?

Get there, safely.

When you leave, drive forward in a straight line, until you are sitting over the front line.

Steer briskly in the direction you want to go
