Identify the Junction
Is it the one I want, is it 'open' or 'closed' Mirrors Main mirror Left mirror Signals Left Signal when it will not confuse others Position start steering to follow the kerb round to the left if safe to do so. Speed Brake to the correct speed, or normally it's a “stop” Look Are there any vulnerable road users about to, or using the junction? Look left, there a hazard that may stop you from emerging? Look right, is there a gap for you to emerge into? Look left as you emerge Move off, or keep moving Steer into the road Steer straight along the road Make progress M mirrors, who is following you S Signals, have they gone off, do I need another one soon. P Position, am I in the right position? S Speed, what am I doing, what am I allowed, is it safe to do so? G What gear should I be in now?L Look ahead so you can plan ahead M S P S L |
