TERMS & CONDITIONS, and DRIVING AGREEMENT
ANDREW KNIGHT DRIVING: Pupil & Instructor Agreement These Terms and Conditions have been created in order to set out some basic “ground rules” for your learning, and my business. They apply both to the pupil and the Instructor. Health & Safety - Andrew Knight Driving will take every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of the Pupil and the Instructor at all times. This includes general, “Covid”, and “Driving” related situations. This will include COVID-cleaning the car before and after each lesson, as far as is reasonable. Payment - electronic bank transfer of lesson payment needs to be made by SUNDAY NIGHT before the lesson. IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED, THEN THE LESSON MAY BE CANCELLED FOR THAT WEEK. I understand that in some circumstances, we will not meet before the start of our first lesson. Bank details will be made available when we first meet, or when we are arranging the lessons. Cancelling a lesson - ANY CANCELLATION MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 49 HRS BEFORE THE START OF THE LESSON, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE CHARGEABLE. Areas included - Pupils can be picked up, or dropped off, within the following boundary (with prior agreement): East of the M5, including the village boundaries of Stoke Orchard, Bishops Cleeve, Woodmancote, Southam, Prestbury, Charlton Kings, Leckhampton, Shurdington, and Badgeworth. The Working Week - goes from Monday to Sunday. Any Bank or National Holidays are NOT included as Working Days. It should be noted that Mondays are NOT available for tuition OR TEST. All pupils must be in possession of a current and valid, provisional or full driving licence entitling them to drive the training vehicle. When we first meet, and before you can turn the engine on, I will need to also check your licence online. This will require your licence number, your National Insurance number, and your permission to do the check. All pupils must satisfy the Instructor that their eyesight meets or exceeds the DVLA’s minimum eyesight standard. The pupils must be able to read a standard number plate from a distance of at least 20.5 metres, or 20 metres if a new-style number plate (post September 2001) is being used. If you need to use corrective glasses or contact lenses to meet this standard, then they must always be used when driving. Fit to drive, in suitable footwear and clothing. Andrew Knight reserves the right to terminate or refuse training, without notice, to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Where training is terminated or refused for these reasons, the Full lesson price will still be payable. On time. If you are late for a session, then that session will still finish at the original time, unless agreed otherwise. Andrew Knight Driving reserves the right to terminate any lesson, without notice, where it is felt the driver has committed an offence, or has driven in a dangerous manner, when the implications of this action have been explained, and warnings not to repeat this action have gone unheeded. Where training is terminated for these reasons, the Full lesson price will still be payable. Your Instructor will arrive at the pre-arranged pick-up point and time. If you do not attend, your Instructor will wait 5 minutes and try to make contact with you, normally by text. After a further 10 minutes your Instructor can leave and you will have to pay for the lesson in full. Failure to pay for the missed lesson may result in cancellation of your driving course. Andrew Knight Driving reserves the right to refuse use of a training vehicle for test purposes, without notice, where it is felt the driver is either dangerous or unfit to drive for whatever reason. You are responsible for the car and its actions when you are driving it. My role will be to advise and support you, not be responsible for your actions or inactions. I will intervene where reasonable possible to do so from the passenger seat, if I can foresee a danger about to occur, that will endanger the car or occupants, or any other road user.
